We’ve hit a lull between the excitement of BLOXtober and the upcoming holiday and winter festivities. Rather than let you catch your breath, we’re taking this opportunity to launch a short fan art contest! We held a similar contest last spring and received plenty of great submissions, and we’re excited to see (and share) a fresh round of fantastic ROBLOX art.
Before we announce the winners of the BLOXtober Costume Contest, let’s step back and look at just how it shook out. In total, we received 17,000 costume submissions over the course of a roughly three-day entry window. We then launched into the weekend voting period, where you all worked incredibly hard on the forums and social media – just look at the #BLOXtober tweet stream for evidence – to get your entry noticed. Based on the more than 200,000 votes cast, your efforts made a big difference.

Continue reading Today, hot on the heels of the early-access period for The Witching Hour, we have even more exciting BLOXtober news to share: the costume contest is now open for voting! With hours upon hours of adventure waiting to be unlocked in The Witching Hour and more than 17,000 entries in the costume contest, there is absolutely no shortage of Halloween festivities this weekend.
BLOXtober continues today with the launch of a costume contest! This is your chance to piece together a creative Halloween costume for your character and, using the new outfits feature, enter it to win a yet-to-be-announced virtual item. While we’re not revealing what the prize is just yet, we will say that the top three costumes will be integrated into our Halloween game, which launches later this week, with a mid-event update. Anyone who wears that costume into the game will receive a useful item.

Last week, we kicked off a Virtual BLOXcon Game Contest, giving you the opportunity to have your BLOXcon-themed game featured at the big event on Saturday, September 21st. With the excitement of the submission and voting periods now in the books, we have selected — with public opinion as a significant factor — the nominees for each category of the ROBLOX International Film Festival. As promised, we will be announcing the actual winners for each category at the upcoming BLOXcon Chicago, London and New York City. Winners will have their films screened in front of a live BLOXcon audience and highlighted on the ROBLOX YouTube channel, and receive a coveted BLOXY Award!
We don’t want to kill the suspense and anticipation of the actual announcements, so we’re not going to show the nominees for every category. However, we do have a bundle of potential winners for the popular machinima/short film and trailer categories to share. All nominees are listed in a random order. Grab a snack and settle in for some great works of ROBLOX cinema!
