Promote Your Costume Contest Entry and Win Prizes!

Today, hot on the heels of the early-access period for The Witching Hour, we have even more exciting BLOXtober news to share: the costume contest is now open for voting! With hours upon hours of adventure waiting to be unlocked in The Witching Hour and more than 17,000 entries in the costume contest, there is absolutely no shortage of Halloween festivities this weekend.

Costumes!

For more information on the features and fun to be found in the The Witching Hour, see yesterday’s release announcement.

Get your costume noticed

Voting in the BLOXtober Costume Contest lasts through the end of the weekend — 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, to be exact. If you’re a costume contest entrant, we have a pro-tip to help you get noticed in the veritable sea of entrants: check your email (i.e., the address you provided when you entered the contest). We sent a message — including a link to your very own costume — to everyone who participated.

Click the link and it’ll open your entry, along with Vote, Like, and Tweet buttons (if you’re on Facebook and Twitter, respectively) you can use to get your friends to vote for you! People who look at your link will also see your costume as the very first image in the gallery. Moral of the story: if you want votes, make sure to share your entry link.

Here’s what mine looks like (and, no, I’m not actually entering to win):

More prizes

Because we received such a huge volume of entries, we’re also expanding the number of prize winners. Here’s how it’s going to shake out:

  • Top three (chosen by our judges): valuable virtual item + integration in The Witching Hour
  • Top five (chosen by our judges): valuable virtual item
  • Top 500 (based on votes): virtual item

Anyone who wears one of the top three costumes into The Witching Hour after integration (which will happen closer to the actual Halloween holiday) will receive yet-to-be-announced benefits!

Enjoy this weekend of Halloween fun!
