As announced in Saturday’s BLOXcast livestream, we’ll be kicking off a worldwide gaming competition known as the ROBLOX Winter Games late this January! The competition will feature events created by some of the top ROBLOX game developers, and be powered by the now-in-development Universes, Teleports, and Data Persistence framework. That means there will be a social hangout leading to the various winter-themed events (each featuring prizes for top competitors) and a global leaderboard with aggregated results.
We’re not quite ready to announce the specific events that will comprise the Winter Games — they’re being created as we speak — but we expect them to cover a range of genres. That means it’s time to start practicing your obstacle course agility, your sword-lunge timing, your FPS reflexes, and your survival skills, among other things. If they’re good enough, they could earn you sweet, sweet prizes and position among ROBLOX’s gaming elite.
Participation in the Winter Games will be open to everyone. We’ll have more news and announcements regarding the Winter Games soon, so stay tuned.
