We’re proud to announce the “Add Gear to Game” feature–all users can now allow specific gear items from the ROBLOX Catalog in their game and sell those gear items directly on their game page. If users choose to buy an item from your game page, you’ll earn yourself a 10% commission. It’s like Amazon’s “Associates” Program, and it’s mutually beneficial. It will help us increase the reach and scope of our Catalog, and we’ll let you keep some of the sales.
Adding gear to your place could actually lead to turning quite a profit, while simultaneously introducing users to gear they may have overlooked previously or never seen. Even if your place is set to “No Gear Allowed,” you can still allow specific items in that particular game. The benefit of this feature is twofold: you make money, and gain more granular control over your game.
There is a single rule, however. You can’t add an item that nobody could buy, like a limited item–any item you put on your game’s page has to be available for sale in the Catalog.
To check out this new feature, log into your ROBLOX account, go to the Catalog and browse by “Gear“. You’ll find a new blue button that says “Add to Game” below each eligible item’s pricing information. Click it and a new pop-up screen will appear, where you can choose the game to which you’d like to add the item.
Please note that adding gear to your game doesn’t mean players will spawn with it; they must purchase the gear to use it in-game.
We’ve also included a new filter on the Money page, which you can see if you click the “My Transactions” tab. The new filter is aptly titled “Commissions,” and it will show the number of sales you’ve made, and how much money you’ve received for each item. This should help you keep track of your commission sales and manage your money better. This should also be useful in deciding which of your items you want to promote (i.e., you can replace your lowest performing item with something else). Fear not, this page can only be accessed by you, so your finances will not be made public.
