Simplifying ROBLOX

Two years ago, ROBLOX started the Ambassador Program, which was designed to encourage players to spread the word about ROBLOX.  In the program, users would take HTML code (specific to that player), and then post those links on other active websites.  Users were rewarded with 2 tix per day per active link.  We believed we could get users involved with promoting our game.

ROBLOX Recruiting at GDC

With GDC looming right around the corner, we decided to give you some insight as to what we’re planning.  This year will be the first time that we have a booth at the conference, and we are excited to increase our presence at the world’s longest running game industry event.  There will be five days of panels, tutorials and roundtable discussions on a comprehensive selection of game development topics taught by leading industry experts.

ROBLOX Facebook Page Grows 3% Weekly


For the past few years, we’ve been quiet about what we are working on, but with the advent of social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube and more, we’ve decided that it’s time to go social… after all, our games are social.  With over 166,000 Facebook followers, ROBLOX reaches over 56,800 Facebook fans weekly.  The number of followers continues to grow at an astounding 3% weekly.

Emagination Hosts ROBLOX Computer Camp

Emagination Computer Camps, a summer camp for kids and teenagers, will be including a ROBLOX workshop this year to their existing curriculum.  The camp has been hosting technology programs for 30 years at multiple locations around the US.  This year, they will introduce a ROBLOX workshop called Build Your Imagination, which is designed to help users imagine, design and create new games.  Most workshops last a week to two weeks.

5.4 Million Games Created in 2011

ROBLOX users created 5.4 million games in 2011.  In addition to this, over 250 million hours of game-play were logged, and ROBLOX served over 9.6 billion page views. A couple of weeks ago, VentureBeat released an article about LittleBigPlanet’s 6 million user generated levels on the PS3, as well as their most interesting user generated games.  We were motivated to share some of the top games of 2011 on ROBLOX.
