A Look Back at a Summer Full of BLOXcons

DaveBLOXconI distinctly remember the morning of our first BLOXcon at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I was making some last-minute preparations, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I peered outside to see a line of people stretching hundreds of feet from the museum’s entrance. I had been so busy running back and forth throughout the massive venue, that I hadn’t yet realized: You were here. And you were smiling.

Here we were, at the beginning of a massive journey that would eventually take us around the world. Yet, somehow, it seemed in that moment that our world had come to us. That morning in Chicago meant a lot to me–and painted a clear picture that we were doing the right thing. That feeling carried myself and the ROBLOX staff throughout the globe. Erik Cassel Apparel: Proceeds go to Cancer Research

In honor of ROBLOX co-founder Erik Cassel, we’re featuring some special clothing items until February 25. Longtime users know that Erik could often be found in ROBLOX wearing the “Well Worn Hat” – this hat meant a lot to Erik, and now that he’s passed, it means a lot to us. We’ve re-named it Erik Cassel’s Hat, and we’re now offering it for 20 Robux. We’ve also made new commemorative “Erik” t-shirts, which are only a single ticket. We hope you’ll wear them in remembrance of Erik. Based on the sales of these items, ROBLOX will make a substantial donation to cancer research. Thank you to the entire ROBLOX community all for your respect and support.

An Open Letter to ROBLOX about Our Third-Gen Character Parts

Prototype Characters Lineup

We have a big vision. The future of ROBLOX is an online world where many physical phenomena are simulated. Ultimately, wind will blow small parts around, metal wires will conduct electricity, lasers will cause wooden parts to burst into flame, magnets will attract parts made of iron, and water will freeze, flow and vaporize. This is not a world that will be composed only of blocks. Our characters will evolve and adapt to live in this world.
